Purpose
This is a place to have a global overview of Warhammer Underworld events. The purpose is to have one place where players and fans can look into and know what events are happening at a specified date, or geographically close to them (in their country).
Technical solution
It is implemented as a Google calendar, consisting of multiple individual calendars, one per country. I decided for a commonly used technology, instead of re-inventing the wheel, based on a similar wargaming calendar used in Czech Republic (we have one calendar per game system in the Czech wargaming calendar).
This solution allows to display a global calendar with all events. It also allows to display individual calendar for a single country, so users in that country can view the local events.
There is a Gmail user created, under which the calendar is maintained: wu.event.calendar@gmail.com
Following persons have access to this Gmail user and can manage the high-level calendar setup (add new countries, assign maintainers of individual country calendars): Honza Skรฝpala, โฆ (to be added, to have 2-3 persons)
Under this Gmail account, there are many individual calendars created. Each calendar is intended for a single country and has one or two maintainers, that can add and remove events to that particular calendar.

WU event title naming convention
To keep a good overview of events and not create a chaos, there is naming convention for events created in this calendar. It is responsibility of local country maintainer to follow this naming convention. The event title is constructed in this way:
- Emoji flag of the country where the event is happening. ๐จ๐ฟ๐ฌ๐ง๐ฆ๐น etc.; in case of online events (e.g. Vassal events), use globe emoji ๐ instead of a flag.
- If the event is tournament, then emoji box with letter ๐, ๐ ฝ, ๐ ฒ or ๐ ฐ marking the format of the event: Rivals, Nemesis, Championship or Alliance; if it is other event type (e.g. game demo event), no emoji is used.
- Star emoji โญ๏ธ for major events (Grand Clash, Adepticon and similar). It is responsibility of the country maintainer to evaluate whether the event is a major event. If the event is not major, then there is no other emoji used
- Ticket emoji ๐ซ to mark World Championship in Warhammer qualifier events, ie. there is a Golden Ticket as a prize. If there is no Golden Ticket prize, then no other emoji is used.
- The name of the event
Examples:
- ๐ฆ๐น๐ ฒโญ๏ธ Austrian Nationals
- ๐ฌ๐ง๐ ฝ Preston local tournament
- ๐จ๐ฟ๐ ฒโญ๏ธ๐ซ Prague Open
- ๐ต๐ฑ๐ ฐโญ๏ธ Polish Team Championship
- ๐๐ ฝ Weekly Nemesis Night
Other fields
- From-To, if filling in time, then please make sure the right timezone is selected.
- If using โWhole dayโ in From-To, make sure the times are mentioned in the description.
- Please fill in the location of the event
- Please add a link to the event page (BestCoastPairings, Facebook event, Shadeglass.eu or any other) into the description
Usage guides
Displaying / embedding calendars
The following URLs can be used to display global calendar (with all countries), or individual calendars with a specific country only.
The URLs above (both global and individual country) can be also used to embed a calendar in your own webpage using <iframe>
<iframe src="https://en.underworlds.cz/calendar" style="border:solid 1px #777" width="800" height="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>
Add individual country to personal calendar
It is possible to include the events calendar (read-only) in your personal calendar, if you use popular hosting services that support it. At the moment, the three major services: Google Gmail, Microsoft Outlook.com and Apple iCloud Calendar do support this functionality. This way the user can have an easy overview of the events in his computer, cell phone or tablet, without need to visit a dedicated page.
Unfortunately, there is no way to import the whole global calendar (all countries) into your calendar. You can import only individual countries, though you can import as many as you wish. To do so, you need the following hyperlink(s).
